Why choose stainless steel parts?
In some places the water is so corrosive that the normal cast iron cylinder with gun-metal components cannot be used. Mild steel rods corrode easily, and galvanized iron pipes are not the answer either. Stainless steel parts are the answer for these sites, and SKI makes them for the India Mark 2.
SS 304 cylinder assembly for India Mark 2
Where the normal cast iron cylinder with gun-metal components cannot be used because of the water, we developed an SS 304 cylinder. The cylinder body and all the inside components are made of SS 304 stainless steel and are extremely resistant to corrosion. An SS 304 cylinder assembly is also available for the Extra Deepwell hand pump.
SS connecting rods
While mild steel (MS) rods can corrode easily, stainless steel connecting rods are more resistant to corrosion. They are available in SS 202 as well as SS 304 versions.

These riser pipes are used instead of galvanized iron pipes where the water is corrosive.
